Autism & Technology

Presented at Temple Grandin Day on Friday 03 June 2016

Sorry, no slides available.

The National Autism society invited me to present about how i use technology at the Temple Grandin day, i then i took part in a panel discussion.

The NAS advertised the event as

This is a unique opportunity to hear world-famous author Dr Temple Grandin talk about her life and experiences. There will also be an opportunity for audience members to ask Dr Grandin questions about herself and to seek her advice and opinions. The conference will also feature other speakers on the autism spectrum who will be sharing their unique insights and perspectives.

My presentation was well received, i have included some of the feedback i received below:

I thought that all of the speakers were very interesting and I feel I took something away from them all for future use. I felt that in particular, Jamie and the Lion were very informative about the various technologies that are available speaking from a first-hand use perspective and this was something ‘new’ that I have not heard a lot about in my previous education around ASC.

School Senco.

I loved Jamie and Lion as I feel he gives a clear picture of how you can be academically able and very autistic.

Jamie and Lion - totally inspiring and what an insight he gave - awesome! (Would definitely listen to Jamie again and again and would love to hear more about his coding in space as well as every other aspect he would like to give us details about!)

Jamie and his lion. I liked the way his presentation flowed and how he was trying to gain independence and automony. Made it very clear and very inspirational for all with Auitism.

Jamie and Lion gave me hope and inspiration and answered questions extremely well.
